Ofsted 2011
On 19th and 20th May 2011, OFSTED visited the school to conduct an inspection and we were delighted that the inspectors awarded the school a grade 2 (good) for overall effectiveness and also awarded the school a grade 1 (outstanding) for it's capacity for sustained improvement.
The inspectors wrote to all the students at the school following their visit and said,
"We concluded that Upper Shirley High School provides you with a good education and that you have every reason to be proud of your school. We were pleased to read your positive responses to the student questionnaire and to hear that you feel safe and learn a lot in your lessons."
